Sebastián Piñera is now the President of Chile. He was elected on March 11, 2010. He is known as one of Chile’s richest people, and has a reputation as an investor, economist, politician, philanthropist, and more.
He has family history of politics as well. His father was actually the Chilean representative for the United Nations when Sebastián was only a kid.
Sebastián himself has a background mostly in economics, though. He was working for his postgraduate degree in economics, and was actually a Professor of Economics at the University of Chile.
He is also known for being one of the presidents of Chile that listens to people intently, starting an organization called the Coalition for Change that allows people to submit their ideas of whether things in the government are fair, or whether they have ideas.
